Turning complexity into measurable improvement.

An Industrial Engineer’s discipline, applied to business intelligence, data and strategy.

I diagnose how work and data actually flow, then design reporting, integrations and processes that remove the cause of the problem — and measure the result.

02Measured impact

Three separate results, each with its own context

  • 89%

Reduction in measured HR reporting-cycle time

Average of ten cycles fell from 1,069.6 to 117.4 minutes after a Power BI-assisted redesign.

  • 120+

Retail stores covered by a cash-up reporting solution

One reconciliation view across the current month and the three preceding months.

  • 15+

Team members trained in analytical and reporting capabilities

Trained in Power BI, Power Query, DAX and SQL, reporting processes and spotting improvement opportunities.

03Professional capabilities

Where strategy, analytics and engineering meet

Three primary capability areas, supported by data quality, applied AI and delivery leadership.

Case 01Delivered

HR Reporting Process Transformation

Human-resources reporting function (organisation anonymised)

Problem. A recurring HR reporting cycle consumed most of a working day each time it ran, and much of that time went into manual collation and reconciliation.

  • Process mapping
  • Root-cause analysis
  • Requirements investigation
  • Reporting automation

Read the case study

89%

Average reporting-cycle time fell from 1,069.6 to 117.4 minutes across ten measured cycles each — an 89.02% reduction.

Case 02Delivered

Retail Revenue & Customer Concentration

Retail and distribution (client anonymised)

Problem. Leadership could see total revenue, but not how dependent that revenue was on a small group of customers and one region.

  • Commercial analytics
  • Customer segmentation
  • Pareto analysis

Read the case study

95% / 5%

About 95% of revenue came from about 5% of customers in the examined dataset, and that segment was concentrated in a single region.

Case 03Delivered

Multi-Store Cash-Up Reconciliation

Multi-store retail (client anonymised)

Problem. Daily cash-up records across a large store network had to be checked, reconciled and reported consistently, with exceptions visible quickly.

  • Financial reconciliation
  • Exception reporting
  • Data quality

Read the case study

120+ stores

One reconciliation reporting solution covering 120+ retail stores, across the current month and the three preceding months.

Case 04Delivered

Consolidated Supplier Onboarding Report

Corporate finance — supplier payments processed for multiple clients (client anonymised)

Problem. A corporate finance company processes payments for many clients, each with many suppliers. It needed an error-free, automated way to track which suppliers were onboarded or rejected and why, to verify banking details with separation of duties, and to check B-BBEE classifications across at least eight finance systems.

  • Supplier data quality
  • Fraud controls
  • Segregation of duties

Read the case study

8+ systems

One consolidated report across 8+ finance systems that flags missing or incorrect supplier information per system and client, enforces independent banking verification, and cut measured query time by about 77%.

Case 05Delivered

Finance Helpdesk AI Automation

Finance shared services (organisation anonymised)

Problem. A finance helpdesk needed an AI agent that could pick out supplier statement tickets from among all the other tickets by reading their contents accurately, give each one the correct classification, and assign it to the agent who would work on it — without making errors.

  • Applied AI
  • Workflow automation
  • API integration

Read the case study

Deployed

Deployed an AI agent that identifies, classifies and assigns targeted ticket types, records an internal audit note on every assignment, and is verified by 88 offline unit tests in 15 test classes.

Case 06Delivered

Manufacturing Loss Investigation

Beverage manufacturing — PET preform production (organisation anonymised)

Problem. PET preform material was being lost in production, but the scale and causes of the loss were not clearly understood.

  • Root-cause analysis
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Loss quantification
  • Operational analysis

Read the case study

~US$10k identified

Identified approximately US$10,000 in PET preform material losses and traced them to their root causes.

05My approach

Understand, diagnose, design, deliver, improve

The same five stages run through every engagement, whether the output is a report, an integration or a redesigned process.

  1. 01

    Understand

Learn how the business works, which outcome matters and who owns the decision.

  2. 02

    Diagnose

Map the process and data, measure a baseline, and find the root cause — not the loudest symptom.

  3. 03

    Design

Design the process, model or system that removes the cause, with the people who will use it.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Build, test and validate against source, then document and hand over.

  5. 05

    Improve

Measure the result against the baseline and keep improving what the numbers show.

07About

An engineer’s way of looking at business problems

I am currently completing a Master of Science in Business Analytics and Applied AI at Quantic School of Business and Technology (expected 2027), building on my training as an Industrial Engineer. I still approach every problem as a system: inputs, flows, constraints and measurable outputs.

Since January 2024 I have worked as a Business Process Consultant in a finance-services setting, supporting reporting for about 9 clients, 28 systems and 80+ production reports, and I have also consulted independently for a telecommunications/ICT client. I have trained 15+ team members, and I enjoy helping analysts become more confident with data and process thinking.

The Hidden Cost of Poor Data Reconciliation

Unreconciled data rarely causes a single dramatic failure. Its cost is spread across rework, delay and lost trust — which is why it is so often ignored.
