Privacy notice
Privacy notice
This website belongs to Kudakwashe Verah, who is the responsible party for personal information collected through it. This notice explains what is collected, why, who helps to process it, and your rights under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
What is collected
- Contact form: your name, email address, optional organisation, enquiry type and message. Nothing else is requested.
- Direct email: whatever you choose to include when you email me.
- Site analytics: this site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookieless service that counts page views and performance in aggregate. It does not set cookies, does not use your IP address to identify or track you, and does not build a profile of you.
- Spam check: when you use the contact form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the request comes from a person rather than an automated program. It does this without a puzzle and without advertising cookies.
- Server logs: the hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and reliability.
Why it is used
Your enquiry details are used only to read and reply to your enquiry and any follow-up conversation that results. They are not sold, used for marketing lists or shared with anyone other than the service providers below, who process them on my behalf.
Service providers
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts and delivers this website and protects it against attacks. Cloudflare also provides the cookieless Web Analytics and the Turnstile spam check described above. See the Cloudflare privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
- Resend delivers the emails generated by the contact form: your enquiry to my inbox and the confirmation sent to you. Email is processed in Resend’s EU (Ireland) region. See the Resend privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
These providers operate outside South Africa. They process information only to provide their services and under data-protection terms that offer a level of protection comparable to POPIA, as section 72 of the Act requires for cross-border transfers.
How long it is kept
Enquiry messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and maintain a reasonable record of the conversation, and are then deleted. Analytics are held only in aggregate form.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its use. Send any question or request about your data to kudaverah@digitalaionafrica.com. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (opens in a new tab).
Demonstrations and case studies
Interactive demonstrations on this site use synthetic data with fictional names. Case studies are anonymised and do not contain client, employer, customer or employee records.
